Kina Grannis - Valentine

Pop/rock songwriter Kina Grannis began exploring music as a child in Mission Viejo, CA. She also began uploading her performances to YouTube, which helped her win a Superbowl contest in 2008. A contract with Interscope Records followed, but Grannis returned to indie status shortly thereafter without releasing anything on the label. Instead, she self-released her first full-length album, Stairwells, in February 2010, cracking the Billboard 200 in the process. ~ Katherine Fulton, Rovi

Beautifully-Ugly
Many people say "a picture is worth a thousand words" (Napoleon Bonaparte); others say "a picture is a poem without words" (Horace). Art is the subjective truth to an objective world.

Girl with a Pearl Earring
Johannes Vermeer is considered to be one of the greatest Dutch painters of his time. His masterpiece Girl with a Pearl Earring is sometimes referred to as the "Dutch Mona Lisa"; however, I consider this painting to be the greatest painting in all of history. Yes, yes, yes---I know---this is a complete over exaggeration for some; however, this painting speaks more beauty than any 'Mona Lisa' I have ever seen. 4/13/10

Looking Beyond What is Said & Done

It is what we call----------life.
an independent memory without a single fallacy.
Don't Look Down

Not now
Not ever.
For the seeds of the trees
Fall down to the ground in silence.
Falling at the wayside
Like husband and bride.
Don’t look down
Not now
Not ever.

For the leaves of the trees
Fall down to the ground in silence.
Shambling through the earth
Like children and mirth.
Don’t look down
Not now
Not ever.

Yet they reach for the sky
And discover they can fly
In relation to our childhood dreams.
So don’t look down
Not now
Not ever…
For we can only hope for tomorrow.
