One Night Only - Say You Don't Want It

Loving this song & the band One Night Only!
Emma Watson is purely amazing (probably because I am a huge fan & follow her on Twitter). Love does not have a dollar sign in the front of it. Throughout the course of the video, we come to learn that Emma (wealthy dog) loves the abandoned dog. Love has no boundaries!

Pop/rock songwriter Kina Grannis began exploring music as a child in Mission Viejo, CA. She also began uploading her performances to YouTube, which helped her win a Superbowl contest in 2008. What is Red?

Red is a chrysanthemum,
A cherry,
A sparkle from
A fairy.

A rose,
It is has an image
that always glows.

Red is an angry day
Pulling your hair
In an ember that
Angers the nightmare.

Red is fierce.
Red is wild.
It's ill-natured
And exiled.

Red is tiff.
Red is tough.
The meanest color
In French handcuffs.

Red is an apple,
Also a sweet pear.
Red are your sins
Forgiven in prayer.

Red is the skin
Of a slender sly snake.
Wake up from the horror
Or experience the quake.

And in the spring time
When flowers may bloom,
Red is the sign that
Jesus rose from his tomb.

What is Red to you?

Temper Tantrum Polka-Dots

Temper Tantrum Polka-Dots
Are spitting up like wedding knots
That go along with crying.

Wake up Sad Faces,
Wake up!

Done with you & done with me.
STOP the mind game; set me free.
Disgusted by your lying.

Wake Up Pretty Faces,
Wake up!

The Fear

have you ever stared outside?
& wondered why or how.

have you ever trailed a memory?
& considered the years that have passed by.

have you ever felt the fear?
that overtakes the body
when walking through a
cemetery

did you come to the realization that one day you too will become a distant memory to the once-familiar faces you came to know & love?

have you ever thought about the erosion of your tombstone?
in which the world seems to have forgotten you
& your great-great grandchildren know nothing of you & your legacy.

have you ever felt the fear?
that one day you may forever be forgotten.

Ask yourself...
have you ever resided in these thoughts?

Beautifully-Ugly

Many people say "a picture is worth a thousand words" (Napoleon Bonaparte); others say "a picture is a poem without words" (Horace). Art is the subjective truth to an objective world.
Art is not art just because one individual said it was so; this is why art is so beautiful. Whether it involves photography, painting, drawing, or sculpting, art is subjective; therefore, no such person can determine whether or not art is beautiful or repulsing. HOWEVER, art has the capability of being criticized--& sometimes criticism can be for the better. It allows artists to grow based upon an advancement in knowledge, and it encourages viewers to get involved with the work of art.
Some people, if not many, believe that art cannot be ugly in a beautiful way. The symbolism beneath art is greater than the actual drawing or painting or photograph. A simple drawing of a garbage can or power-plaint may influence ideas that Earth's landscape must be purified from harsh chemicals and unwanted materials. This is not saying that power-plaints should be removed from the face of the earth; rather as human beings, we have a responsibility to clean up our mistakes and make better
for the future. Most art works are focused on a single focal point; they depict the reason for the work of art, and they enable the viewer to understand the situation as well as the meaning. Art is subjective; however, it is always changing. It promotes feelings of depression, happiness, enthusiasm, curiosity, etc. etc. etc. Art tells a story; it encourages the viewer to experience a second reality, as well as an opportunity to understand an artist's point of view.
We must never forget why art is important. Sometimes I believe art to be my own personal psychiatrist; it enables me to pour out my emotions and experience a brighter world outside of a harsh reality. Art is beautiful; don't ever forget it.

Girl with a Pearl Earring

Johannes Vermeer is considered to be one of the greatest Dutch painters of his time. His masterpiece Girl with a Pearl Earring is sometimes referred to as the "Dutch Mona Lisa"; however, I consider this painting to be the greatest painting in all of history. Yes, yes, yes---I know---this is a complete over exaggeration for some; however, this painting speaks more beauty than any 'Mona Lisa' I have ever seen.
The focal point of the painting is the pearl earring--simple, yet dramatic. The painting is simply beautiful. In fact, (for being a painting in the year c. 1665) this painting is extremely modern. The touch of a red lip, the simple complexity of the skin, and the addition of the baby-blue headdress on a black background allow the viewer to experience the presence of the girl wearing the pearl earring; I feel as if I know her. To be even more honest, this painting reminds me of the beauty of cancer--ironic, I know. In my opinion, people who have experienced chemotherapy are beautiful; their confidence and hope is uplifting, and the nakedness of their heads are (oddly) attractive to the eye. I know this entire concept is difficult to understand; however, cancer (aside from the possible outcome of death) is beautiful in some aspects. It changes a person--oddly, for the better. Cancer patients always seem to have a smile on their face, and their loved ones always seem to have a harder time with the situation than the patients themselves.
All in all, Vermeer created a beautiful painting--a work of exquisite art. The Girl with a Pearl Earring is simple, modern, refined, and inspiring; she excites the mind, as well as inspires true hope and beauty.

Honey Bee

I am a honey bee
Shunned off from the colony
And they won’t let me in
So I left the hive
They took away all my stripes
And broke off both my wings
So I’ll find another tree
And make the wind my friend
I’ll just sing with the birds
They’ll tell me secrets off the world

But my other honey bee
Stuck where he doesn’t wanna be
Oh my darling honey bee
I’ll come save you
Even if it means I’ll have to face the queen

So I’ll come prepared
My new friends say they would help me
Get my loved one back
They say it isn’t right
The bees have control of your mind
But I choose not to believe that
So we’ll meet in the darkness of the night
And I’ll promise I will be there on time
We’ll be guided by my new friends the butterflies
Bring us back to our own little hive

Oh my other honey bee
No longer stuck where he doesn’t wanna be
Oh my darling honey bee
I have saved you
And now that you’re with me
We can make our own honey

Looking Beyond What is Said & Done

What do you we call entertainment? Is it those who sing in a crowded bar, or is a group of girls performing double-dutch on the sidewalk? Entertainment is a form of art; a form of self-expression. Whether one likes horror, or comedy, or mystery, art is expressed and comprehended by millions of people in many different ways. From the first day man and woman arrived on this planet, emotions were carried through the hearts and minds of their bodies.Their form of entertainment was survival. To you maybe, survival does not sound like a form of entertainment, but it is. We find hope and prosperity through the help of others. There enthusiasm to make a difference and to work for justice encourage us to want to live a stronger life. Entertainment provides comfort even in the most difficult times--even when we are stuck in the darkest allies. Rita Mae Brown once said, “Art is moral passion married to entertainment. Moral passion without entertainment is propaganda, and entertainment without moral passion is television.

I love the thrill that is experienced through writing and reading and hearing a new joke. I love all types of movies and television shows and photography and books and poems. These forms of self-expression provide us with a second reality--an opportunity to discover something in ourselves that we may never have thought possible. The Laughter, & the Smiles, & the simple Giggles of life are everything. :). These are what get us through the day. Entertainment is the foundation of all creation. It is the masterpiece of humankind.

It is what we call----------life.

an independent memory without a single fallacy.

Don't Look Down

Don't Look Down

Not now

Not ever.

For the seeds of the trees

Fall down to the ground in silence.

Falling at the wayside

Like husband and bride.

Don’t look down

Not now

Not ever.

For the leaves of the trees

Fall down to the ground in silence.

Shambling through the earth

Like children and mirth.

Don’t look down

Not now

Not ever.

For the seeds of the trees

Fall down to the ground in silence.

Yet they reach for the sky

And discover they can fly

In relation to our childhood dreams.

So don’t look down

Not now

Not ever…

For we can only hope for tomorrow.
